2. After warming up, begin the test by playing an open G. Pull the barrel as needed to get it down in pitch
3. Next test the clarion G in “phrase context” by slurring to it from the open G
4. Pull the right hand as needed to get the clarion G in tune with the chalumeau G
5. Once this is done the clarinet will play both generally in tune and well in tune with itself
6. You may test the tuning of individual tones by playing them in “phrase context”
